Architectural Programming and Design
Whether it’s in the UK or the US, we’re interested in thoughtful, creative design,
but design that is smart. “Smart” means that our designs respond to the client, the site, the context. They’re flexible, economical. They’re legible, logical, sustainable.
“Smart” means that we work with our operations and management consulting colleagues. We ask
them to comment
on the efficiency and clarity of movement in our designs, to confer on safety,
security, functionality.
And we work with our construction colleagues. We think about the estimates they
develop and ask
ourselves: is the tried and true still sound and worth repeating? Is there a
better way? Could we look at
new materials, new building systems, new methods to shave project costs,
save time?
Can we design for
tomorrow with today’s budget?
Whether it’s a master plan, a senior living facility, a hotel, a
museum or a jail, we’re interested
in pushing the envelope.
We are practical but visionary.
Sensible but inventive.
Our feet are on the ground.
But we’re agile enough to jump.
