Pitt County Detention Center
Greenville, North Carolina
Brennan Architects, LLC, provided programming and design services for this 192-bed Indirect Supervision facility, which includes 4 48-bed units configured around a central control so that all units are visible from a single position. Our design also includes a new 20,000 sq. ft. intake and release facility, a new 5,000 sq. ft. sally port, a new 8,500 sq. ft. kitchen, and renovation to the existing 3,000 sq. ft. laundry area.

The security electronics control room located in the new housing block monitors inmate activity through the various units of the facility with technologically advanced hardware. The intake and release building and sally port include holding cells, medical review stations, detoxification cells, magistrates office and general jail administration offices.

Brennan Architects developed a design program for this Indirect Supervision project that applies precast concrete to the modular system and the main building structure. This approach offers a tremendous savings in both time and project cost, as well as a higher degree of security, with building materials manufactured in a controlled factory environment and assembled on-site.

Brennan Management Services, LLC, is providing all preconstruction and construction management services on this project.

Brennan Consulting & Training Services, LLC, will provide Transition and Activation Services throughout the design, construction, and occupancy phases of this project.
